Given this was a standard arcade game there was also a surprisingly good variety of moves, which was sufficient in getting participants comfortable addicted. The game had 10 stars of the late 80s to early 90s to complete a solid roster. It had colorful gameplay and graphics, with a classic 8-bit soundtrack. WWF Wrestlefest really got things started. It would be difficult not to put a retro arcade game on the list. Well done RetroSoft well done indeed….So which WWE games have been the best? WWF Wrestlefest Arcade Fans must rumble on over to the Xbox digital games store and smash the buy button like you just put your opponent in a figure 4 leg lock. In my mind this game is exactly what it should be and I’m excited to see what the RetroSoft team has in store in the future for its fans. I love the CPU vs CPU vs matches and found my favorite Character the Big Meanie can dominate the squared circle for those who may struggle with the retro control.
RetroMania Wrestling I ripped through all the achievements in a couple hours as a veteran of button smashing and up, down, left right formula master.
Over time the huge stars and excitement of the wrestling scene became watered down and so did the games. Wrestling isn’t what is was back in the early days of Wrestlemania and the decades to follow. For what this game is, and indie developed wrestling game dating back to 10 years ago to a fast track development in about 2 years time, it’s simply a must have for fans of all the wrestling games of my generation. There’s a lot to offer here and RetroSoft is tossing around ideas for more modes and such as well as coming soon wrestlers. As a fan of Mat Mania in the arcade as well as many others over the years. While fans of Wrestlefest and other Technos greats will see the similarity in design quickly it nods to many more wrestling games of the past.
